Nightclubs are expected to maintain daily records that support the four licensing objectives:

  • Prevention of crime and disorder

  • Public safety

  • Prevention of public nuisance

  • Protection of children from harm

This typically includes:

  • Incident records detailing the nature of the incident, date, time, and actions taken

  • Refusals register recording all refused alcohol sales, including intoxication or underage refusals

  • Staff details and training records, including Challenge 25, vulnerability awareness, and emergency procedures

  • CCTV maintenance logs confirming the system is operational and recording footage requests

  • Search and ID scan records, such as use of ID scanning systems

  • Capacity records to ensure the venue does not exceed its licensed maximum

  • Noise and nuisance logs, including complaints and remedial actions taken
